Your Brain Has Favorite Tools

So, let's imaginw that your beain has a little toolbox, alright? There are tools that help you notice things and there are tools that help you make decisions. You're still with me, right? Okay, cool. Cognitive functions are the tools your brain likes using most.

A Simple Explanation of the 8 Functions

Se - Extraverted Sensing

Se notices what is happening right now. It loves figuring out what it can fear, see, smell, and feel right now. Think of Se like a kid who sees a puddle and immeduately wants to jump into it or looking out onto a lake and wanting to know if it's cold or deep.

Si - Introverted Thinking

So while Se notices what is happening now, Si remembers what happened before. Si will notice something and ask itself "Hmm... Have I seen this before? What usually happens?". Si the kind of kid who will say something like "Last time we went there, it was cold, so bring a jacket"

Ne - Extraverted Intuition

So while Si and Se are noticing things from the past and present, Ne is looking at possibilities. Ne asks "What else could there be?". Ne is literally the kid who willturn  a cardboard box into a castle, spaceship, theater, office--you name it, they'll have imagined it.

Ni - Introverted Intuition
